From Curiosity to Command Line: Why I Fell in Love with Cybersecurity

I’ve always been the kind of person who asks why. Not just once but over and over again until I understand how something works. In most places, asking too many questions can make people uncomfortable. But when I found cybersecurity, I discovered a space where questioning everything isn’t just accepted buts its expected. That’s when I knew I was home.

The Spark: Asking "Why" was Finally a Strenght

My journey into cybersecurity didnt start with a degree or a job offer. It started with curiosity. I wanted to know how things connected, how data moved, and why certain systems broke while others held strong. I was fascinated by the invisible highways of the internet and what it meant to protect them. Cybersecurity has given me the permission to dive deep. To question the obvious while finding beauty in the complexity.

The Obsession: Learning How Everything Works

Once I steppeded into this world, I couldnt stop exploring. I dove into topics that intimidated me at first like networking, packet analysis, Linux commands, forensic tools. The more I learned, the more addicted I became. I remember the first time I opened Wireshark and saw live packets scrolling across my screen I felt like I had discovered a secret language. Then I started using tools like NetworkMiner, John the Ripper, and Hascat not just to break things but to understand how to secure them.

Falling in Love with Linux Forensics

Out of everything I’ve learned so far, Linux forensics stole my heart. There’s something incredibly satisfying about using the command line to investigate digital traces, parse logs, and uncover stories that most people never even know exists. I started using Kali Linux as my daily OS and began building my skillset around forensic analysis and ethical hacking.

The Why Behind ZeroMagenta

Eventually all of this passion needed a place to live. That’s why I created ZeroMagenta a name that represents the blend of Red, Blue, Purple team mindsets. I’m not just someone who breaks into systems or defends them. I live at the intersection finding the patterns while asking the right questions to bridge the gap. Cybersecurity isn’t just a career path its my calling.
